Smart Transportation System for Disabled Individuals

Smart Transportation System for Disabled Individuals

Smart wheelchair prototype featuring QR code navigation, RFID security, and obstacle avoidance sensors aimed at hospital logistics.

Supported by the TÜBİTAK 2209-A research program, this project focuses on developing an autonomous transportation vehicle to assist elderly and disabled individuals in complex indoor environments like city hospitals. The prototype integrates multiple sensor technologies to ensure safety, precise positioning, and ease of use. Key Technical Features: Indoor Navigation (QR Code): A camera-based positioning system that scans QR codes placed in hospital corridors to determine location and route. Remote Control (Bluetooth): Integrated mobile communication allowing the vehicle to be controlled via a smartphone app. Security & Access (RFID): An authorization mechanism that uses RFID tags to start/stop the engine, ensuring only authorized usage. Collision Avoidance (Ultrasonic): HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors detect objects in real-time, automatically braking the vehicle to prevent accidents.
